Invited by the Fundación Simón Bolivar and personally by maestro Gustavo Dudamel, Carlos Checa will make on May 2014 his debut in Venezuela.
Cuenca Ciudad de Música pays tribute to Teresa Berganza at the Auditorio de Cuenca on Feb. 23.
The fifth concert of the season, pays tribute to Teresa Berganza with religious music: Oratorio de Noël by Camille Saint Saëns and the Stabat Mater by Giovanni B.Pergolesi.
Teresa Berganza supports with her name “Cuenca Ciudad de Música” and accepted to become the patroness of the Escolanía (ECC).
“The little sweep” by Britten returns to the Auditorio de Cuenca this Christmas time, after the success achieved by the different theatres in the community. The Opera will be performed by the Escolanía ciudad de Cuenca, Itxaso Moriones (Soprano) Marina Pardo (mezzo-soprano) Francisco Pardo (Tenor) Alfonso Baruque (bass) and the Orquesta Cuenca Ciudad de Música”.
Carlos Checa makes his Argentina debut with the historical UNCUYO Symphony Orchestra, in the Mendoza City. The Orchestra has more than 60 years of history and represents one of the best in the country.
The concert will have a Spanish flavour, with works such as the Spanish Rhapsody of Ravel and the Suite No. 2 from the The Three Cornered Hat by Manuel Falla. The Orchesta will perform as well the Concerto for two clarinets by Krommer, with soloists Gustavo Longo and Marcelino González, and the overture from the Marriage of Figaro by Mozart.

Reinvited for the second time, Carlos Checa returns to Mallorca on the 26th of October to conduct the Inaugural concert of this season, with works such as the Concerto for cello and Orchestra in B minor Dvorak, with the violoncellist Emmanuel Bleuse, Symphony No 1 by Prokofiev and the Firebird by Stravinsky.
The 6th of October the presentation of the Orchestra Cuenca Ciudad de Música Season will take place. The musical formation joins the Escolania and the Orfeón de Cuenca to accomplish the I season of concerts ‘Cuenca Ciudad de Música’.
The concert will include arias and pieces of operas by Verdi, Rossini, Bizet, Mascagni and Puccini. The Orchestra Cuecna Ciudad de Música will perform with the Escolanía de Cuecna, the Orfeón de Cuenca, and soloists Itxaso Moriones (Soprano) and Gonzalo Fernández de Terán (Tenor).
Carlos Checa, who made his debut with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional del Perú months ago, returns to conduct the Orquesta Nacional on the 27th of April. The concert program includes a premiere of the Peruvian Alejandro Núñez Allauca composer, bass title “Machu Picchu” preludio and dance – Piano concerto no. 4 in G major by Beethoven, which will feature the Peruvian Juan José Chuquisengo pianist, and afterwards, in the second part of the concert – Fifth Symphony – in C minor by Beethoven.
Invited again by the Orquesta Nacional, Carlos Checa will conduct the concert tour that will lead the Orquesta Nacional to different cities of the country. Several free concerts will take place in public spaces, where classical music with the most popular music of Costa Rica composers will be mixed for the first time.
Carlos Checa returns to Latin America, this time to make his debut in Peru conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional at the Los Incas theatre. He will conduct the second Symphony of J. Sibelius and Cocnierto fantástico by Albéniz, which will feature the Spanish pianist Luis Fernando Pérez.
Carlos Checa made his debut in Poland conducting the Wroclaw Philharmonic and the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz. On this tour, accompanied by the pianist José Menor, Marcialav and Gramophone records, filmed the documentary “El Concierto Fantástico”. Documentary was distributed to several television stations in a number of countries and was premiered in Spain in 2011 by TV3.
Carlos Checa conducts the Orquesta Manuel de Falla, in the 7th Edition of the prestigious Festival of Spanish music. There will be performed the debut works of Francisco Toledo and José Luis López Aranda, as well as the Portuguese Rhapsody, a piece for piano and Orchestra by Ernesto Halffter.
