This coming March 2022 will mark the 20th anniversary of Carlos Checa’s professional debut.

His debut, at the age of 25, was on March 22nd 2002 in Antequera (Málaga), conducting the Solemn Mass of Santa Cecília by Ch.Gounod with the Orquesta Sinfónica Provincial de Málaga, together with the Coral Santa María de la Victoria and the Coral Ciudad de Antequera and the soloists Sofía Plata, (Soprano), Francisco Heredia, (Tenor) and David Mancebón (Baritone).

Currently, in 2022, Carlos Checa is celebrating his seventh year as the principal conductor and artistic director of the Barcelona Youth Symphony Orchestra-JOSB , he has completed 15 editions last August as musical director of the FIMUC Festival, and since 2016 he has been the conductor of the Orchestra he founded for the Universal Music company with which he has worked intensively on numerous tours between 2016 and 2019 in Spain, Perú and Chile.
