As a social and solidarity project in support of the marginalized and vulnerable sectors of our society, Carlos Checa and the Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, in collaboration with Penitentiary institutions, La Caixa Banking Foundation and the Archbishopric of Barcelona, will offer a concert May 21 at the Brians Penitentiary Center. The program includes the Adagio of Mozart’s Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra, which will be performed by soloist Alejandro Lobato and completed with the Symphony nº 4 in Re minor Op 120 by Robert Schumann.
After the musical success conducting the last work of the singer Isabel Pantoja last November, Carlos Checa join to Universal Music as musical director of the Symphony Orchestra of the record company on the Spanish Tour and as musical director of the International tour to 2017.
The performances for the months of February and March include venues such as the Barclaycard Center in Madrid on Saturday, February 11, and Saturday, February 18 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
The international tour begins in Chile, as part of the Viña del Mar festival with performances on February 22, March 1 in Peru, at the Jockey Club in Lima, with the Lima Symphony Orchestra, and on March 5th in Santiago de Chile.
Carlos Checa is artistic director since its founding in 2005 of the FIMUC festival, the International Music Festival “Serrania de Cuenca” . In this eleventh edition, the concerts of the festival will be held on 12th 13th and 14th August. More info at www.fimuc.com/
